I recently visited with Oliver Kita at his Shop in Rhinebeck
to take these photos for you… just in time for Mothers Day. Because he has some
very special boxes of Artisan Chocolates that he has made just for you, or any other person you know who would like
the most Elegant and Beautiful box of Chocolate that they have ever seen. He
calls them Juicy Blossoms for Mother’s Day. He has a knack for coming up with
the best descriptions. See the bottom of the post for more information on these
amazing chocolates, and his Rhinebeck shop.

Mother’s Day Boxes: These are the lavender boxes, 1st photo and the boxes towards the bottom of the post. The four pieces in the middle of the box are:
1. Living Rose – Marc du Champagne, living rose, Italian
bergamot, and candied rose
2. Le Clair Obscure Violette which is milk chocolate and
white chocolate infused with violets, candid violet.
3. Voile de Jasmine which is a romantic blend of sweet red
orange and soothing pink marshmallow flavor, candied jasmine décor
4. Cherry Mimosa – orange blossom Mandarin, cherry from
Luberon in Provence.
The chocolate surrounding these specially decorated pieces have heavenly caramel inside.
I’ve known Oliver for a very long time… as a matter of fact,
the first wedding I ever photographed was a wedding that Oliver Catered. He,
besides being a Chocolatier,
caters weddings at locations like Boscobel and Locust on Hudson. He also
makes wedding cakes and birthday cakes too…. but of course these are not just
any cakes… they are works of art. He said he is currently thinking about a pink
poodle cake for a birthday… that would be adorable…. I would love to see it.
But back to the Chocolate: He said people really enjoy coming by in the afternoon
with a friend and sitting by the window and enjoying a cappuccino and a treat
and spending time enjoying each others company and the sweets he serves them.
(The Europeans prefer the Espresso bar ... much more like Europe)
What you see on the table is Chocolate Hash Mini Cupcakes,
and Mini Lemon Thyme cupcakes with Raspberry Butter Cream frosting.
As I
was leaving (they had not opened yet) there was a stylish older couple asking
me if they were open. I was looking on the door and said that they opened at 2
today. They said “We hear they have some really good hot chocolate in
there”. And I am sure he does.
